The Tough Guy Tour

Led by a real insider from the Bunker 5001 Team, you’ll be taken in groups of 10 to the hidden secrets of the bunker and see more of its impressive equipment. This tour lasts some 4 hours (in the bunker) and costs 100 euros per participant. It can not be offered at the weekend! Make sure you’ve got suitable clothing on and bring at least two (!) long-duty torches and spare batteries with you!

The Tough Guy Tour covers all the areas seen on the Standard Tour plus we’ll be crawling through tight hatchways, risking a look under the blast cap, a tunnel serving as an air duct together with the associated high-speed flap valves, we’ll walk along the water-feed tunnel and have the exhaust system of the emergency power supply system explained. Further highlights are the stone-bed blastwave suppressor, the massed-air cooling system, the filter frame (the filters are no longer there), the electrical workshop and the converters for generating alternating current from the DC battery supply. We’ll also explain the synchronisation process of the generator plant and take a look in the battery room (no batteries!). Then off to the medical centre (beds, cupboards and a steriliser), the chemical areas for decontamination, and that’s it! For anyone interested in technical matters, you’ll get a really good impression of life here in the bunker. This tour covers all technical systems in the bunker. Multiple areas in the bunker will only be visited once, but it’s not called the Tough Guy Tour for nothing – we want no whingeing or moaning! For this reason, this tour is not open to people of a frail disposition. If you would like to sign young people with the tour, please note that a good physical condition is given.
